Nursing students from Clayton State University’s College of Health made their voices heard during the 2018 Georgia Nurses Association Legislative Session Kickoff on Jan. 23.
The annual event brings professional nurses, nurse educators, students, and other supporters to share with state lawmakers the legislative priorities of the association.
Dr. Lisa Eichelberger, dean of the College of Health, and several nursing students spoke to state house representatives, including Rep. Deborah Gonzalez D-117, and Rep. Judi Lott R-122. Lott explained to students why she entered politics, and why it’s important for nurses to be involved in the nurses association.
“We want to especially thank Dr. Nelson and Tim Davis and Richard Lamphier at GNA for planning Legislative Day,” Eichelberger said. “It was an excellent way for nursing to show its support for the legislative process.”
